Feng Shui For Garden Design for 2010: Bronze Seven Tiered Pagoda
This is tricky, but it can be done. Feng shui for garden design for 2010, this year the annual star that falls in your Southwest sector of your property is the 5 star. The fatal 5 star is an inauspicious star indeed. It can cause financial upheaval and even bankruptcy if disturbed. Tilling the soil is ill advised. Letting this sector of your property lay fallow this year is probably the best thing you can do. But with that said not everybody is going to be able to do that. So, here are some remedies that you can put in place.
- Hang a six rod wind chime in this sector
- If you need to till the soil use a powered cultivator. Do not try to do this by hand. The cultivator is of metal energy and will help to exhaust the fatal 5 star.
- Plant wood energy flora. These are tall plants, grass, bamboo, clover, ivy, wisteria, jasmine and evergreen trees or shrubs. Metal plantings are also very good. These would consist of roses, camellia, rhododendron, hydrangea or any highly hybrid plant and plants that have waxy rounded leaves.
- If you must use this area, then make sure you have music, wind chimes, metal lawn furniture, a wooden deck rather than a cement slab. I caution you on putting in hard scape without seriously looking at all aspects, because every year a different star rules. This would likely not be a good year to put new hard scape in this sector.
- Remember that the fatal 5 star is an earth energy resonance, thus using metal, music included, and wood energy you can exhaust and even destroy the fatal 5 star. Just be sure you use something metal between you and the work at hand to do it with. Placing a bronze sculpture or 7 tiered pagoda in this sector will be very auspicious.
The Southwest sector of your property can be a wonderful place, but if you can possibly allow this area of your yard to stay fallow and unused the better your chance at escaping the wrath of the fatal 5 star. In other words the best remedy is to avoid it altogether.
Using the 5 tips above, can make your chances of escaping the wrath better and will allow you use of this part of your property, if it’s the only usable space available. So, don’t be afraid of the fatal 5 star. Feng shui for garden design for 2010, be aware and protect yourself by using the element resonance that can balance the fatal 5 star.

Feng Shui For Garden Design: Every year is different! So, plan ahead.
Feng shui for garden design, every year is different. This year the annual stars will dictate your plantings, just as they do every year. As you may already know you are going to draw out your property, putting in the hard scape, house, outbuildings etc. After you have done this you’ll lay over the “Lo Shu”. For reference to how the Loshu came about, read “Fantasy Creatures, Myth or Legend? The Magical Black Tortoise – Inspired Feng Shui’s Beginning”.
I like to just draw a tic tac toe grid making sure that it is in exact thirds to start. Your hard scape will then be the determining sector borders depending on how close they are to the “Lo Shu” grid lines. Now, determine the facing direction of the property, that’s the front.
Mark each sector of your layout based upon the direction your property is facing. North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, Northwest and of course the center. Make sure you remember to add or subtract the deviation to “True North”.
Now mark the annual star that rules each sector. This year of the tiger, 2010, the stars fall as follows:
- North is ruled by the 4 star
- Northeast by the 2 star
- East by the 6 star
- Southeast by the 7 star
- South by the 3 star
- Southwest by the 5 star
- West by the 1 star
- Northwest by the 9 star
- The center this year is ruled by the 8 star
Now you’ll need to remedy the following areas of your property, the Northeast, Southwest, Southeast and South Sectors. You’ll need to activate the Center, the East, the West, the Northwest and the North sectors of your property.
Feng shui for garden design, the North sector this year is tricky. You may need to remedy it or activate it depending on the events planned for the year. Starting next week I will take on each sector, so stay tuned!

Wealth Bull
The history of feng shui in America is quite fascinating! We’ll have to take you back to the Ancient Egyptians, who happened to practice a very similar art/science. With the take over of their empire, Western Civilization went into a very dark era. Only a very few were even remotely educated in this system until it was almost completely forgotten.
Fast forward to the Age of discovery. During this period of Western history explorers found ways to trade with China directly, no longer dependent on Arabs and the Middle East as middle men, England, France, Spain, Holland and Portugal traded with and studied Chinese Culture. With that came the introduction of Feng Shui to Western Civilization, a more advanced form of the Egyptian art/science. This is not to say that had the Egyptian form of this art hadn’t been interrupted, it may have been just as advanced, but it was.
By the late 1600’s, American Whalers were also trading with China and were soon practicing feng shui in their homes in New England. The rich Whaling Captains homes were designed in a feng shui square, split into thirds and were raised up to four floors or stories high. The feng shui brought them luck and wealth. New England became a rich asset for Britain.
This wealth brought with it an independent mind. With the practice of using feng shui in the design of American cities and forts, sculptures and homes, luck was on America’s side. Revolution was poised to win the independence that wealth had brought to mind.
By the 1800’s, America was still using feng shui and many of the occult symbols of Egyptian lure. Washington, D.C. for instance, uses many of these symbols and can still be seen today in it’s city plan. For the average man the style of architecture was still being influenced by feng shui.
By the 1880’s, the height of the Victorian Age, the well to do learned to minimize the shar chi rooms and maximize the chi rooms. Most of these homes were irregular in shape with a clear reasoning behind them. They almost always started with a square and shrank the rooms that were not so helpful to the head of household or shar chi rooms and made larger the rooms that would support the head of household, the chi rooms. It was probably the wealthiest period in American history for the individual man and his estate.
By the 1920’s, America was on a new path of discovery and back to the square box. For mass production homes and resale reasons homes no longer were designed for the individual, but for trade as a commodity and feng shui expertise faded.
Today, is a new dawn and Americans are now rediscovering what past generations already knew. Feng shui works and has been a part of our national psyche for nearly 400 years, that of course includes our colonial heritage. Discover the wonders of feng shui for yourself. Love, fame, wealth, health and personal growth all yours for just taking the time to educate yourself in the art that is feng Shui.

There came from the Eastern seas nine dragons...
Of all the celestial Chinese mystical fantasy creatures, I think the green dragon of the East is probably the most written about. He has permeated the Western legends and is revered throughout the East.
He is one of two celestial guardians that no longer walk the Earth, but rather has enumerable counter parts, the other is the “Red Phoenix”. The Komodo dragon, the monitor lizards, the horned toads, the alligator and the crocodile are just to name a few that walk this Earth today.
There came from the Eastern seas nine celestial dragons that came to China a blessed the land. One of these dragons was the Green Dragon, who became the guardian of the Eastern Pillar and the cardinal direction of East. Guardian of wealth and prosperity, he brings the riches of life. He has many depictions, but all have him with wings with which he fly’s. He also is depicted with scales like that of a fish for he comes from the sea. He is green of course and has sharp claws. He is almost as powerful as the Red Phoenix and coupled together makes for a strong marriage.
It is said, placing the Four Guardians of the Cardinal Directions in their prospective corners or sides to your property will bring balance and prosperity in the home. They are the Red Phoenix in the South, the White Tiger in the West, The Black Tortoise in the North, and of course the Green Dragon in the East. After all, feng shui is all about the balance. Green Dragon brings to your home wealth and riches.
He can be whimsical, ferocious, cute, in flight, laughing, breathing fire or just plain and traditional, but the Green Dragon is a bringer of wealth and riches. Use your imagination and pick a depiction of this most celestial of creatures to bring the riches that you deserve. Make sure he is depicted in a regal, but representative to your personality. You’ll be surprised at the infinite faces of the Green Dragon. He will surprise you. He is fun, regal, ferocious, flirtatious, mystical, magical. He is a reflection of you! So think hard about the kind of Green Dragon you should have in your Cardinal Direction of East, after all he is a most powerful of feng shui fantasy creatures.

A symbool of longevity and happiness
Bats have long been fantasy creatures of dark forces in the West, well may be not long, but at least as long as there have been movies and stories about the Vampire Dracula. Bats, however are quite a helpful little creature in actuality. They eat pest that wreak havoc on crops, spread the seeds of fruit and some even pollinate like bees.
In Eastern cultures the bat is revered. It is a symbol of good health and longevity. It is a bringer of happiness and prosperity. Legend has it that there is a bat that lives for a thousand years. It feeds off the stalactites in the caves and caverns that it lives in and it can breathe it’s own breath. It is a silver bat which only appears in the summer.
Chinese herbalist use bats for medicinal purposes. It is said that the bat can stave off unnatural causes of death and prolong life.
Having a bat in ones home or office is very auspicious indeed.
Place up to five bronze or silver bats in the west or northwest room of your home for a happy family and a family blessed with the support of influential people in the community.
Groups of five bats is the most powerful formula using bats for abundance and fulfillment of dreams.
Placed in your work space they bring good fortune and good outcomes of your work.
Have them in every room of your home except of course the bathroom.
Have five in your entry to multiply fortune, wealth and promotion.
Hang them on the outside of every window and door of your home to ward off disease.
Bats are forever a good and wonderful remedy for whatever ails you. So, don’t think of a bat as dark and ominous fantasy creatures, think of the bats as a bringer of good fortune, happiness and longevity. The Fortune Bat, it’s a member of feng shui fantasy creatures every home should have, especially in the West.

White Tiger Guardian of the West
There are four celestial guardians, one for each cardinal direction South, North, East and West. The white tiger is the guardian of the West and is one of the few feng shui fantasy creatures that still roam the Earth. He is powerful, extraordinary and is the largest cat on the planet. There are only two celestial guardians still in existence and you guess it, the white tiger is one of them the other is the Black Tortoise. Unfortunately the white tiger is endangered.
The white tiger is the yin to the yang of the green dragon of the East. Balancing the chi of the dragon and making the place between the two blessed. The white tiger brings security to those who need someone to look after for them. He represents protection and strength! He is cunning, wise and powerful!
In the western most sector of your property, a sculpture of a white tiger is said to bring security to your household. Symbol of protection, the white tiger brings security to your home. The green dragon may bring you riches placed in the East, the white tiger brings security placed in the West.
It was said that the white tiger will only appear if there is peace throughout the World. Maybe there is something to this legend. The white tiger is endangered and the World seems to be ever warring, yet there is hope for the white tiger appears in zoos and shows throughout the First World. The white tiger also represents virtue and it is said that if China is ruled by a truly virtuous emperor that the white tiger would appear. We may be in trouble, if legend is true. China hasn’t been ruled by an emperor since 1911. Nonetheless, the white tiger has appeared on our World stage and so I choose to believe we are in a period of peace and harmony.
The White Tiger Guardian of the West!
May you be blessed to have feng shui fantasy creatures appear in your life!
